Guacamole is a avocado based creamy dip, made with ripe avocados, sea salt and lime juice and mashed in a mortar and pastel. There are many variations to this recipe. Today I am sharing my recipe for guacamole. This dip is best served with tortilla chips.

Ingredients:
2 ripe avocados, peeled and deseeded
1 medium size red onion, finely chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, chopped (optional)
Handful of fresh cilantro
1 TBSP fresh lime juice (or as per taste)
Salt to taste

Instructions:
In a bowl, mash avocados. Add remaining ingredients until well combined. You can keep this guacamole chunky or smooth, as per taste. Enjoy!!

Note(s):

  1. Good quality ripe avocados are a key ingredient of this dip.
  2. The consistency of guacamole can be adjusted as per taste. You can keep it chunky or smooth as desired. We like it little chunky.
  3. The spiciness can be adjusted to taste, you can add jalapeno pepper to make it spicy.
  4. Balance of red onion, lime juice and salt are important in making this dip. Some recipes also call for diced tomatoes.
  5. Guacamole tastes best when fresh. Keep the seed inside the dip, it prevents the dip from browning. Also, extra lime juice helps.
