Cranberry Pomegranate Juice Recipe

Love this time of the year when supermarkets are filled with fresh fruits. Cranberries, pomegranate, cherries, apples, pears, and so many others. Honestly, I could just survive on fruits alone. I love fresh fruits and love them in any form. Juice is one of the easiest ways to intake the daily recommended dose of Vitamins, and is my favorite way to start the day.

I love the combination of fresh fruit juice. Cranberries and pomegranate are my favorites, packed with so many health benefits. Cranberries are considered a superfood, high in nutrients and antioxidant content. Pomegranates are packed with antioxidants and are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. While these berries are in season, make the most out of them.

Here's a great way to incorporate this superfood into your diet. Fresh homemade cranberry pomegranate juice. Love how easy it is to make this juice, packed with nutrients and antioxidants, and is zillion times better than store-bought ones. I find store-bought juices, more like a sugar syrup than juice. Loaded with sugar, artificial colors, and preservatives.

How to make Cranberry Pomegranate Juice

Sharing an easy recipe to make this amazing fresh homemade cranberry pomegranate juice at home. I have used my Instant Pot for this recipe. I love to use my Instant Pot, as it is quick and efficient. However, I have also shared the stove top method as well.

The process of making fresh homemade cranberry pomegranate juice is a 3 step process. First, we make fresh cranberry juice by cooking the cranberries and then straining the cranberries.

Second, make fresh pomegranate juice by extracting the juice from the pomegranate arils. I find the blender works best for this process. Add fresh pomegranate arils to a blender jar along with some water and pulse for a couple of minutes. Strain the juice and here you have fresh homemade pomegranate juice.

Lastly, combine fresh cranberries and pomegranate juice, add sugar or preferred sweetener [optional], and refrigerate. Enjoy this fresh homemade cranberry pomegranate juice chilled. Now, how easy it is to make this healthy juice with all the goodness of fresh cranberries and pomegranate without a ton of sugar or any preservatives. Try this recipe once and I guarantee you will never go back to those store-bought heavily sugar concoctions.

Storage

To store cranberry pomegranate juice, keep it refrigerated in an airtight container to maintain freshness. Consume it within a week for the best quality and taste.

Tips

Cranberries and pomegranate are the star ingredient of this recipe. Use fresh ingredients if in season. However, you can also use frozen berries for this recipe.

Cook the cranberries until soft and mushy. This helps easily extract the juice from the berries.

Gently press the cranberries to extract the juice. Remember we only need the juice and no pulp. Pulp will add to the bitterness of the juice.

Pulse the pomegranate arils for a couple of minutes, so they release their juices. Do not over blend the mixture.

Add sugar or preferred sweetener and simmer for 2-3 minutes. No need to boil the juice.

I highly recommend straining the juice twice. Second-time straining helps in removing any leftover bits from the juice.

Cranberry Pomegranate juice stores well for up to a week in the refrigerator. Freeze it in ice cubes for up to 3 months.

Immediately transfer the juice into a glass bottle or glass pitcher. Do not store the juice in a metal container. Metals react with the juice and can lead to an undesirable taste.
