Cool off with a refreshing homemade Lauki Juice (Bottle Gourd Juice). Packed with nutrients and a hint of minty freshness, it's perfect for hot summer days!
1-2tablespoonsof honey or sugar;optional, for sweetness
A pinch of black salt
Ice cubes;optional
1cupwater;plus more as needed
Instructions
Wash the bottle gourd thoroughly and peel it. Cut it into smaller pieces and remove the seeds if they are large and hard. Cutting the bottle gourd into smaller pieces makes it easier to blend.
Place the peeled and chopped bottle gourd pieces, ginger, mint leaves, cilantro, in a blender. Add a little water (about ¼ to ½ cup) to help with the blending process. Blend until the bottle gourd is completely pureed and you have a smooth, green liquid.
Using a fine mesh strainer or a piece of muslin cloth, strain the pureed bottle gourd to separate the juice from any remaining pulp or solids. This will give you a clear and smooth juice.
(optional): You can add lemon juice, honey, sugar, or black salt to the strained juice to enhance the flavor and sweetness. Adjust the quantities to your taste. Stir well until everything is thoroughly mixed.
If you prefer your juice cold, you can refrigerate it for a while or add ice cubes. Then, pour it into glasses and serve.
(optional): You can garnish the juice with a sprig of mint or a slice of lemon for added freshness and visual appeal.
Enjoy your homemade lauki ka juice as a refreshing and healthy beverage. It's an excellent choice, especially during hot summer days, due to its hydrating properties.
